Personal Information:

I completed my undergraduate degree in Culture, Ecology and Sustainability from New College in Santa Rosa in September of 2005. The year studying at New College was incredibly influencial in that it was the final tearing away of my belief in the standard American paradigm. I studied with Richard Heinberg and it was an experience that brought focus to my purpose that I spent so much of my life seeking.

I consider myself a Peak Oil educator and a Community Solutions Evangelist; which means I encourage communications and community action for a sustainable future. I'm working to become a national speaker focusing on a down to earth approach of teaching about Peak Oil,... sort of the "neighbor next door coming to have tea and talk about the weather" approach. Peak Oil is no longer a topic for academia; but for all of us that have families and regular lives and want to deal this situation in a managed way.

In 2005, I co-founded, Sustainable Monterey County, a citizens' action group, dedicated to ensuring an orderly transition through the fossil fuel decline in Monterey County. We do this by educating the public about Peak Oil, mentoring grassroots groups into action and networking them together to work effectively. I am the coordinator and a facilitator of the Bay Area Post Carbon Network and I am an adjunct instructor at New College of California, Santa Rosa Campus, teaching "Public Speaking for Activists."

Also, I host a new radio program called, Tomorrow Matters, on KRXA 540 Am Progressive Talk Radio on Sundays from 2 to 3 pm out of Sand City, CA. This weekly show airs live across the County from the KRXA website and focuses on matching the problems of today; Peak Oil, and Global Climate Disruptions to the solutions of relocalizing, alternatives, green building, etc... all shows are available on my website.

I was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, and moved to the Monterey Bay area in the late 80's. For 14 years I've been busy raising my two daughters, and through this work I've learned the importance of community and natural environments to the human experience. This is what lead me to New College and the study of Peak Oil. I want to change the future so the children of tomorrow can have a beautiful experience of our world.

I recognize my gift for public speaking allows me to make the greatest contribution towards a sustainable future for family, community and the generations that will follow. I believe there is no other work to be done; only managing the fossil fuel decent The survival of the human race depends on how we collectively proceed.
