Three short videos were shown at the Peak Oil/Climate Change Art Show at ArtSF on June 17, 2006. They were "Your Guide to Perversion" (where perversion meets peak oil); "A Post-Oil Man", and a short promo video made for San Francisco Oil Awareness which was shown to a number of California peak oil activists who met in May in San Francisco. Two of these videos, showcased below, are available for viewing or downloading online:
"A Post-Oil Man," created by James Johnson, is a very creative three minute video about a man who's learned about peak oil and is making life changes necessary to mitigate the effects of a culture-wide meltdown. The video was featured at Salon.com online in June 2006. James kindly agreed to allow it to be viewed at our art show. "A Post-Oil Man" is available for viewing at this link listing an assortment of James's movies. His main web page is here.
"Your Guide to Perversion" was created by Dennis Brumm in autumn, 2004, a few months after he "discovered" peak oil. It is a compilation of old, out-of-copyright video taken off internetarchive.org, and can be downloaded at this link (it's recommended you download the 110 megabyte file; some of the smaller files that were self-generated by the archive do not properly work). Dennis's personal website, way out of date (he's working on it) is brumm.com. |
